SL golf improves to 11-0 in dual meets

Spring Lake's varsity girls golf team improved to 11-0 in dual meets this fall with a victory over Kenowa Hills at Gracewil Country Club. Spring Lake shot a 191 to Kenowa Hills' 209.

Ginny Olszewski led the Lakers with a fantastic round of 41 despite taking an eight on a hole. Emma Watson and Karissa Raschke each shot a 59, while Rachel Rantanen and Faith Lee each shot a 52.

The Lakers’ JV team also scored a win over Kenowa Hills, 207-229.

Maddie Johnson led the way with a 49, while Erika Kugler shot a 50. Sam Lewakowski carded a 52, and Mackenzie Gravelyn shot a 56.

“We had 14 girls shoot under 57,” Lakers’ coach George Bitner said.

Spring Lake’s varsity squad travels to Whitehall on Thursday.
