Detroit will face the winner of the National League Championship Series. Game 4 of the NLCS was Thursday night in St. Louis, with the Cardinals leading the Giants two games to one before the game.

Max Scherzer took a no-hit bid into the sixth inning for Detroit on Thursday. The bullpen held up and Tigers pitchers limited the mighty Yankees lineup to just two hits.

Miguel Cabrera and Jhonny Peralta hit two-run homers in a four-run fourth inning against C.C. Sabathia, who was unable to prevent the Yankees from getting swept in a postseason series for the first time in 32 years.

Austin Jackson added a solo shot in the seventh, and Peralta hit another homer an inning later to make it 8-1.
