Spring Lake coach Rich Hyde told his varsity girls basketball team before Friday’s contest at Fremont that the team that won the rebounding and turnover battles would win the game.

Well, the Lakers took care of business in both of those statistical categories, but fell short in another.

Spring Lake made just 5-of-16 free throws and shot just 13-of-45 from the floor in a 38-37 loss at Fremont.
