GIRLS

Junior Varsity

Grand Haven suffered a tight 29-28 loss to Rockford on Thursday. Amy Kober had nine points and nine rebounds for the Bucs, while Hanna Rinkevicz contributed six points and 10 rebounds. Shanna Thomas added four points and three rebounds.

Spring Lake improved to 9-3 overall and 5-1 in the Lakes Eight Conference following its 45-17 win over rival Fruitport. Remington French had 14 points and six rebounds to lead the Lakers. Saebryn Peel added seven points and five steals and Laura Park totaled six points and six rebounds.

Freshmen

Spring Lake (7-3 overall) defeated Fruitport, 38-21, as Ellen Lauinger, Katie Mumby, Becca Tober, Sadie Tanner, and Nora Adkins each scored six or more points.

Rockford handed Grand Haven a 43-28 loss, despite seven points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals from Lindsey DeWitt. Lauren Strong added six points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals.

BOYS

Freshmen

The Buccaneers came up short against Rockford, 44-36. Jason Long had 12 points and Ethan Styck scored seven for the Bucs. Drew Strainer had six boards, and Jordan Deklyen grabbed five rebounds.
