Tonight's prep basketball games cancelled due to winter weather

Anticipated showdown between GH and GRCC pushed back to Feb. 12

The wintry weather that caused the cancelation of area schools today has also wreaked havoc with tonight’s prep sports schedules.

According to Grand Haven athletic director Robin Bye, Grand Haven’s varsity girls basketball game against Grand Rapids Catholic Central has been cancelled tonight. It has been re-scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 12.

Spring Lake’s varsity boys and girls basketball contests against Fremont have also been cancelled.

According to athletic director Cavin Mohrhardt, the boys game will be made up at Fremont on Monday, while the girls game will be played at home on Feb. 19.

Basketball games at Fruitport and WMC have also been cancelled. The Trojans’ girls will not be making the trip to face the Holland Dutch tonight. The game has not yet been re-scheduled.

Western Michigan Christian’s boys basketball game at Holland Christian has been postponed. It will be made up on Tuesday, Feb. 12.
