Montgomery scores 22 as Lakers win finale

Junior Varsity
Grand Haven
wrapped up its season with a 56-44 win over Unity Christian on Thursday. Noah Lein led the Bucs (12-8) with 20 points and three assists. Schaefer Thelen added 11 points and four assists, while Adam Abraham had 10 points and eight boards.
Spring Lake beat Fremont, 75-45. Zach Montgomery led the Lakers (15-5) with 22 points and Kaden Kendall scored 12.
WMC topped Tri-Unity Christian on Thursday, 65-44. Jared Varnado led the way with 18 points while Ben Mast and Ryan Butkis each tossed in seven points and Derrick Holt and James Godwin each added six.
Freshmen
Grand Haven
knocked off Unity Christian, 52-38. The Bucs wrap up their season at 13-7 overall and 5-5 in O-K Red play. Jason Long finished with 15 points and eight rebounds; Drew Hewitt had 10 points and three assists; and Levi Overway added eight points.
Spring Lake fell to Fremont, 48-45, to wrap up its season at 7-9. Erik Sieversten led the way with 14 points. Sam Ventocilla added 11 points and six boards, while Sam Pranger played great on defense.
GIRLS

Grand Haven
fell to Rockford, 47-33. Amy Kober had 100 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks for the Bucs. Katelyn Messer scored six and grabbed seven rebounds.
