The current seniors on the Grand Haven varsity girls basketball team will go down as one of the most celebrated groups ever to talk the halls of GHHS.

They’ve already been a part of one state championship, and will have a chance at another this weekend.

The senior class is highlighted by Abby Cole, the Buccaneers’ 6-foot-5 terror in the middle who swats away opponents’ shots with grace and ease; and the silky-smooth Hannah Wilkerson, who locks down opposing scorers with startling regularity.

But the Bucs’ other three seniors — Grace Kendra, Angie Schultz and Courtney Springer — may not earn the headlines but do plenty of other things that have helped propel their team to a 26-0 record this season.

That group is in the unfortunate situation where all three are competing together for the same playing time, but they’re taking it all in stride as each brings a little something different to the court.
