Balanced hitting and a solid defensive performance sparked the Spring Lake varsity baseball team to an 8-1 win against Coopersville on Monday.

Michael Dillingham went 3-for-4 and scored two runs, JP Batts added two hits with three runs and Kyle Zietlow had a bases-clearing double to boost the Lakers’ offensive attack.

Carter Bench was credited with the pitching win, as he allowed just one earned run and two hits in five innings of work. Dillingham pitched two scoreless innings of relief.
