Spring Lake’s varsity girls soccer team scored a 5-0 win over Tri-County on Wednesday, improving to 4-0 on the season and 3-0 in Lakes Eight Conference games.

Kelly Hoffius scored twice for the Lakers, while Megan Harken, Saebryn Peel and Sierra Gipson each added single goals.

“It was really windy, but we were glad to play without any rain,” said Lakers’ coach Jeremy Thelen. “We outshot them 19-3, we just had a little problem finishing.

“Morgan Carey controlled the middle with a lot of help from Molly Miedema. It was a good team effort.”

The Lakers got to Coopersville on Saturday, where they will play Grand Haven at 11:40 a.m. and Coopersville at 1 p.m.
