Spring Lake varsity girls soccer team remained undefeated on the season with an 8-0 win over Grant.

The Lakers, now 7-0 on the season, improved to 4-0 in Lakes Eight Conference play with the win.

Leeann Latsch had a hat trick for the Lakers, and Maya Denslow added a pair of goals.

Single goals were scored by Megan Harken, Alex Prout and Saebryn Peel.

“It was a feisty game, but we put them away,” Lakers’ coach Jeremy Thelen said.

Nora Reed recorded the shutout in goal for the Lakers, who have allowed only one goal through seven games.

The Lakers host Hudsonville Unity Christian tonight, then host Grand Haven on Saturday. On Monday, Spring Lake plays at Lakes Eight rival Fruitport, then travels to Ludington to play an improved Ludington team Wednesday before hosting Reeths-Puffer on Friday. The Rockets knocked the Lakers out of the state tournament last year.

“This stretch of games is really important to us,” Thelen said.
