Another huge outing by Casey Davis pushed Grand Haven’s varsity girls lacrosse team past Grand Rapids Northview on Wednesday, 20-9.
Davis, a sophomore, scored 10 goals, had an assist, and won three ground balls.
Courtney Hylok also had a hot hand on offense as she poured in four goals to go with four ground balls. Claire Reenders added three goals and two ground balls, while Savannah Albright scored twice.
Olivia Saber also scored for the Bucs.
Madalyn Hanson, Maria Hornby and Hillary Land each controlled two ground balls, while Lyndsay Larkin forced a turnover.
Stephanie Szymas made 10 saves in goal for the Bucs, who are now 4-4 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
LAKERS FALL TO EAGLES
Spring Lake’s girls lacrosse team suffered an 11-7 loss at Hudsonville on Wednesday.
Karley Englesman led the Lakers with five goals, while Anna Denslow and Ellen Lauinger each scored once.
Dana VanOordt was in goal for Spring Lake, making seven saves.
LAX FEST AT SPRING LAKE
On Saturday, lacrosse teams from Grand Haven will invade Spring Lake for the annual LAX Fest River Rivalry.
The schedule begins with a showdown between the freshmen boys teams at 11:30 a.m. The varsity girls teams will play at 1 p.m., followed by JV boys and 2:30 and varsity boys at 4 p.m.
