Hylok, Reenders pace Bucs' girls lacrosse

Pair each scores six goals in win over Lowell

Courtney Hylok and Claire Reenders each scored six goals as Grand Haven’s varsity girls lacrosse team overpowered Lowell on Monday, 20-0.

Hylok was also very active as she had an assist and eight ground balls.

Anna Gagnon added two goals, an assist and three ground balls, while Savannah Albright, Taylor Maertz, Hillary Land, Savannah Tallman, Dani Michaels and Casey Davis each added a single goal.

Stephanie Szymas made four saves to earn the win in goal.

Grand Haven is now 5-4 on the season and improves to 4-2 in conference play.

Junior Varsity: Grand Haven tied Spring Lake’s club team on Monday, 7-7. Ellen Lauinger and Karley Englesman each had two goals, while Anna Denslow, Emily Betten and Annah Windemuller each scored once. Merelise Antekeier was in goal for the Lakers, making six saves.

On Saturday, Grand Haven’s JV team battled Spring Lake in the annual LAX Fest, with the Buccaneers winning 7-6. Anna Gagnon, Crystal Salinas and Anya Berghoef scored goals for the Bucs. Maera Williamson had six ground balls and caused three turnovers. Goalie Jenna Jalvin made 17 saves in goal.
