Lakers' tennis blanks Grant

Haven JV squad tops East Kentwood

Spring Lake’s varsity tennis team had three flights win by 6-0, 6-0 scores in its easy 8-0 win against Grant in Lakes Eight Conference action on Monday.

The flights who didn’t surrender a point included Lenka Pousova at No. 1 singles, Meryn Campbell at No. 4; and Jori Henderson and Stephanie Sabo at No. 2 doubles.

In other singles results, Roxane Stroebel won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2; and junior varsity sub Erika Kugler won 7-5, 6-4 at No. 3.

Gretta Nyboer and Faith Lee scored a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles for the Lakers, while Maddie Parker and Audrie Dalman won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3, and Rachel Briegel and Megan Oostinde scored a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 4.

Grand Haven’s junior varsity tennis team topped East Kentwood, 5-3.

Amelia Donohoe and Hailey Watkins won at No. 1 doubles; Jenny VanTol and Sophie Kruggel won at No. 2; Maddy Nogar and Sandra Plamondon were victorious at No. 4; Brittany Paver and Chelsea Paul won at No. 6; and in singles play, Taylor Hodges scored a win.
