After losing a heart-breaking doubleheader to rival Reeths-Puffer on Tuesday, Mona Shores’ varsity softball team took out its frustration on Grand Haven on Thursday.
The Sailors swept the Bucs in a makeup doubleheader at Grand Haven High School, 16-4 and 13-2.
The Bucs’ defense struggled throughout the twin bill, as they combined for 24 errors.
In the opener, sophomore RJ Morrow was tagged with the pitching loss. At the plate, she had two hits and an RBI, while Jordan Buckingham and Emily Shaler also added RBI hits.
In Game 2, freshman Kaylee Hartwell had one strikeout and walked five in four innings of work, while Morrow pitched an inning of relief.
Morrow tallied another RBI hit, while Hartwell and Louisa Johnson each scored runs.
Junior Varsity: Grand Haven defeated Mona Shores, 8-6. Kylie Masko was the winning pitcher, while defensive standouts were Anna Bush, Alexis Stille and Brooke Nichols.
