Western Michigan Christian’s captain and sweeper Allison Langeland has received a scholarship to play soccer next fall at Cornerstone University.

Langeland has been a defender on the Warriors’ varsity team all four of her years at WMC.  Her older sister, Jenna, also played soccer at Cornerstone, while her younger sister, Onika, was a freshman on the Warriors’ JV team this past fall.

“Alli is an amazing player. She plays with such passion and drive but also with such pleasure and joy,” WMC coach David Hulings said. “She not only encourages her teammates and draws out the best from them, she sets an example in practice and in games that raises the bar for them.  She dominates the back defensive line, but also creates so much for us on attack from her set pieces and delivery of great balls into the box.

“She is a dangerous player for opposing coaches.  Her ability to just embrace the game and her players makes her one of many special players I have coached these 20-plus years.  She is right at the top of great players I have had the privilege to watch develop, but more importantly, she is a great person.”
