Casey Davis and Courtney Hylok each scored three goals as the Buccaneers’ girls lacrosse team fended off visiting Holt, 8-5.
Grand Haven played a stellar first half and led 5-1 at halftime.
Davis added an assist and two ground balls, while Hylok had two ground balls and caused a turnover.
Hillary Land and Courtney Wagasky added goals for the Bucs, while Land had four ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers.
Maria Hornby and Anna Gagnon also had four ground balls, while Brooke Way added three.
Dani Michaels had added two ground balls for the Bucs.
The Bucs honored their seniors before the game — Hornby, Land, Way, Lyndsay Larkin, Taylor Maertz, Catie MacFadden, Michaels and Stephanie Szymas.
Grand Haven is now 7-5 on the year and will travel to Grand Rapids Christian on Friday.
BUCS’ BOYS FALL TO EGR
Grand Haven’s varsity boys lacrosse team suffered an 11-4 loss to East Grand Rapids in the O-K Tier I conference third-place game.
The visiting Buccaneers surrendered five fourth-quarter goals in the loss.
Goalie Dan Gignac made several outstanding saves for the Bucs, who will host a Division 1 regional game on May 24.
