Grand Haven graduate Becca Addison will look to cap her senior season at the University of Michigan in memorable fashion, as she’ll compete at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., beginning on Wednesday.
Addison qualified for the meet by winning the 1,500-meter run at the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds on May 25 in Greensboro, N.C.
Addison ran a career-best time of 4 minutes, 15.81 seconds in her heat, eventually beating out U-M teammate Amanda Eccleston by about two seconds.
Addison also earned academic honors last week, as she was named a first-team recipient of the Capital One Academic All-District V list. She’ll now appear on the Capital One All-Academic Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
Addison is majoring in movement science at U-M’s School of Kinesiology.
