The 92nd annual Spring Lake Women’s Invitational Tournament will take place next week at Spring Lake Country Club.

The event, one of the longest-running women’s golf tournaments in the country, begins with qualifying on Monday, followed by three days of match play.

Defending champion Collette Hansen of Grand Haven highlights this year’s field, along with four-time winner Joan Garety, a member of the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame.  Hansen recently wrapped up her senior season on the women’s golf team at the University of Detroit Mercy, where she led the Titans to the NCAA Regional Round.

Two other past champions — Jean Murray and Susan Campbell — are also in the field, along with SLCC members Kathy Eisenga, Karen Sherwood and Michele Yasenak.

Match play rounds begin at 8:15 each morning. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
