GRSC hosts Double-Handed Distance Race

Four boats participated in event

The Grand River Sailing Club held its annual Double Handed Distance Race on Saturday.

The event is an 11.38 nautical-mile race rom Grand Haven to M-45 and back.

Only four boats participated, two in each division.

Denny Dryer’s Frank Lloyd Starboard took first place in the Spinnaker Fleet with an elapsed time of 3 hours, 35 minutes, 46 seconds and a corrected time of 3:09.46. Tom Morell’s Surface Tension took second with an elapsed time of 3:53.38 and a corrected time of 3:21.46.

John Campbell’s Peggy Dash II won the Main and Jib Fleet with an elapsed time of 4:06.20 and a corrected time of 3:21.57, while Pax completed the course in an elapsed time of 4:05.08 and a corrected time of 3:28.43.
