Freshman Anna Kramer shot a 77, helping Spring Lake set a school record for an 18-hole meet with a team score of 355 to win the Jenison Invitational.
Not bad for a team that started three freshmen, two sophomores and a junior.
“I’m a happy camper,” coach George Bitner said. “We’ve got some work to do, but it was a good day.”
Karissa Raschke was eighth overall with a 95, while Kayle Krueger and Jaedyn Shelton each shot a 96.
“Two of the girls who played, I’ve only worked with them on the range,” Bitner said. “I haven’t seen them playing on a course yet. They did a decent job.
“I think it’s going to be a fun year.”
