Anna Kramer shot a 2-over round of 39, leading Spring Lake’s varsity girls golf team to a 170-229 victory over Muskegon Catholic Central.
The 170 ties a season low for Spring Lake.
Karissa Raschke and Emma Conroy each shot a 6-over-par 43, and Kayla Krueger added a 45.
“We had a nice grouping there, all within six strokes,” Lakers’ coach George Bitner said. “I was really pleased with the way they came back at the end. Kayla parred the last two holes for her 45. Three of our girls parred the last hole, No. 9, a par 5, and Anna birdied it. They finished strong, which we haven’t been doing. We played some steady golf.”
The Lakers travel to Ludington for a Lakes Eight jamboree on Wednesday, while the JV squad hosts Coopersville.
TROJANS’ GOLFERS FALL TO WMC
Western Michigan Christian edged Fruitport in a dual match at Oakridge Golf Course on Monday, 214-225.
Olivia Varnado and Abbie Alfree each shot a 48 for WMC, while Hannah Recknagel added a 56 and Betsi Brook shot a 62.
Alexis Jackel shot the Trojans’ low round with a 54.
“Each week, the girls are getting more and more consistent and more confident,” said Fruitport coach Doreen Hall.
