Spring Lake captured four flight championships to win Saturday’s Holland tennis quad.
The Lakers finished with 17 points. Holland and Zeeland East each had 12 points, while Lowell added seven.
Ryan Fedewa won at No. 1 singles, while Stuart Velarde took first place at second singles.
The Lakers’ Josh Cole and Brenden Peel captured first place at No. 2 doubles, including a tough 7-6 (5), 6-4 win over Zeeland East in the finals.
Spring Lake’s Craig Pratt and Griffin Wagasky went undefeated and won their flight at third doubles.
The victory is the second invitational win of the year for Spring Lake.
BUCS PLACE FOURTH
Grand Haven’s varsity tennis team placed fourth at Saturday’s Holland Christian BYS Invitational.
Mona Shores won the event with 19 points, followed by Holland Christian (14), Sturgis (8) and the Buccaneers (7).
The only Grand Haven flight to win multiple matches was the pair of Brendon Vanderstel and Simon Herndl at No. 3 doubles. That duo went 2-1, including a 6-3, 6-2 win over Holland Christian and a 6-0, 7-6 (7) win over Sturgis.
