A new course will greet runners of Saturday’s Oktoberfest Marathon.
The annual event, which begins and ends at Old Boys’ Brewhouse in Spring Lake, includes a 5K run, a half-marathon and a full marathon.
The half-marathon and marathon both kick off at 8:15 a.m., followed by the 5K run at 8:30.
Both the marathon and the half-marathon will run around Spring Lake in a counterclockwise direction. The marathon, which covers 26.2 miles, is two loops around the lake, while the half-marathon (13.1 miles) is a one-loop course.
The 5K awards ceremony begins at 9:45 a.m., followed by the half-marathon awards ceremony at 11 a.m.
The first of two marathon awards ceremonies begins at 12:30 p.m.; the second starts at 2.
There will be live music at Old Boys’ Brewhouse to greet the race finishers.
Packet pick-up and late registration will be held today from 4-8 p.m. An expo with local merchants and sponsors will be held at the same time, while a pasta dinner will be offered from 5-9 p.m. at a cost of $5 per person.
A kids’ race will be held tonight at 6:30.
