Spring Lake swept through Thursday’s volleyball quad at NorthPointe Christian, in the process earning its 40th win of the season.
The Lakers beat Western Michigan Christian (25-10, 27-25), NorthPointe Christian (27-25, 21-25, 15-12) and Comstock Park (25-19, 25-16).
“These were three good wins,” said coach Sarah Bulthuis, whose Lakers are now 40-8-2 on the year. “Earlier in the season, we lost to WMC, so we made some adjustments and the team executed very well. We had to come from behind in the second set to earn the win.”
Bulthuis said the tough competition should serve as a good warm-up for next week’s Class B district tournament, which begin Monday at Fruitport.
Kelsee Zuidema finished with 28 kills, 34 digs, 24 service points and seven aces for the Lakers, while Lydia Suchecki chipped in with 19 kills.

Rachel Pennington finished with a team-high 53 digs, while Karley Engelsman contributed 53 assists and 17 digs.
