Spring Lake’s swimming and diving team checked one of its preseason goals off its to-do list by winning Saturday’s Ludington Invitational.
The Lakers finished with 152 points, well ahead of second-place Manistee (104) and third-place Ludington (82) in the six-team field.
“We finished third as a team at this meet last year, so it was nice to come away with the victory,” said second-year head coach Jason Lintjer. “We looked really impressive this weekend, which bodes well for the remainder of the season.”
The Lakers’ Marshall Bailey, Chris Hintz, Blake Henning and Davis Allison got the event off to a strong start with a victory in the 400-yard medley relay in a time of 4 minutes, 2.17 seconds.
It was the first of eight wins on the day for Spring Lake.
