Haven hockey falls to Rockford

Rams outshoot Buccaneers, 40-17

Grand Haven’s varsity hockey team was outshot 40-17 and dropped a 5-1 decision to Rockford on Saturday.

The Buccaneers fall to 1-3 on the young season, including an 0-3 mark in O-K Tier I play.

The Rams jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Bucs’ Hayden Modaff scored unassisted early in the third period.

Rockford scored twice more to ice the victory.

Ryan Henning made 35 saves for Grand Haven.

The Buccaneers return to action on Wednesday, when they host Grandville at The Edge Ice Arena in Holland.
