Several area prep basketball games were canceled on Friday due to the ice storm that hit West Michigan.

Spring Lake’s girls basketball teams were scheduled to take on Muskegon on Friday as part of the Muskegon Area Sports Hall of Fame Tournament. That game was postponed and will instead be played today at 4 p.m. at Mona Shores High School. Only the varsity game will take place today; the junior varsity and freshmen contests were canceled.

Grand Haven’s boys basketball teams were slated to play at Reeths-Puffer, but the Rockets chose to cancel the game. Grand Haven athletic director Robin Bye said the make-up date has yet to be determined.

Fruitport’s varsity boys and girls basketball teams had their games at Tri-County postponed. Athletic director Ken Erny said those contests will be made up on Feb. 18, with the girls tipping off at 5:30 p.m. and the boys to follow at 7.
