Spring Lake’s Bailey McCarthy was invited to the Super Y-League Olympic Development Program’s National Camp for the third consecutive year.

The camp will give McCarthy an opportunity to train with the national team and try out for openings on the national team.

The ODP National Camp is headed up by United Soccer League’s National Technical Director, Peter Mellor, and includes collegiate coaches along with nationally recognized Super Y-League Coaches. The camp takes place at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., from late February through early March. It’s a hotbed for college scouts from around the country.

McCarthy’s invitation came on the heels of a strong showing this summer as part of the Alliance Soccer Academy team. With that squad, McCarthy posted four shutouts in eight games and allowed a total of five goals.
