SL swim uses depth to overtake Unity Christian

Hintz, Allison turn in strong swims for Lakers

The Spring Lake swimming and diving team defeated visiting Hudsonville Unity Christian Thursday night, 97-87.

Individual winners for the Lakers swimmers were Chris Hintz in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1 minute, 8.46 seconds, and Davis Allison in the 100 freestyle (53.87). 

The 400 freestyle team of Allison, Will Parker, Keon Rick and Blake Henning also came out victorious (3:39.75).

Unity Christian took first in all of the other swimming events, but the Lakers’ depth overcame the Crusaders.

Spring Lake competitors finished second in seven of the 11, and third in nine.   

The Lakers dominated diving, with Sam Thornson (181.35), Casey King (154.95), Anton Bredenbeck (154.20) and Colin Hendrickson (139.05) taking the top four spots.
