They staged a terrific comeback, but host Western Michigan Christian fell short to Holland Christian on Tuesday, 42-31.

The Warriors trailed by as many as 18 points, but rallied to cut the Maroon lead to four early in the final quarter, partially on the shoulders of sophomore guard Nate Dugener who drilled three 3-pointers.

Holland Christian weathered the storm, however, and hung on for the win.

Kyle Steigenga led the Maroons with 21 points, including four monster dunks.

Bernard Smith led the Warriors with 10 points, followed by Dugener with nine.

Junior Varsity: WMC lost 57-43. Ryan Butkis tossed in 13 points while Demonta Bartee added nine and Ben Mast seven.

Freshmen: WMC lost 53-27. Chance Larson tossed in nine points and Daniel Ray added eight for the Warriors.
