SL swimmers defeat MCC

The Spring Lake swimming and diving team beat Muskegon Catholic Central at home Thursday night, 93-62.

The Lakers claimed first and second place in seven of the 12 events, and spots 1-3 in four others.

Davis Allison claimed first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.58 seconds. He was immediately followed by teammates Sam Colvin (58.35) and Jacob Weesies (58.77).

Allison also took top honors in the 50 freestyle (24.85), with Will Parker (25.51) coming in second.

Another event the Lakers did well in was the 200 freestyle, with Eric Schock (2:05.75), Colvin (2:07.98) and Grant Stille (2:17.89) taking spots 1-3.

A team of Marshall Bailey, Mitchell Galloway, Alex Kuhn and Keon Rick won the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:51.94.

Stille, Chris Hintz, Blake Henning and Allison (153.24) took second in the event; while Charlie Slajus Frank Reeg, Tristen Eurich and Jacob Weesies came in third (159.77).

Rick (2:40.75) and Elijah Locascio (2:41) placed 1, 2 in the 200 IM, while Schock (5:34.07) and Stille (6:06.91) took top honors in the 500 freestyle.

The Spring Lake divers went unopposed on the evening.

Sam Thornson won the competition with a score of 198. Anton Bredenbeck (165.95) finished second, while Gavin Devries (139.15) came in third.
