Grand Haven’s varsity hockey team fell to rival West Ottawa on Saturday, 2-1.

The Buccaneers trailed 1-0 at the end of the first period after Tyler Seaman scored for the Panthers.

In the second, the Bucs struck back thanks to Nathan Schmidt’s goal, assisted by Jake Steggles and Joey Zelenka.

West Ottawa’s Alex Zimmerman scored the game-winner midway through the third.

Shots were hard to come by for both teams, as Grand Haven finished with 16 and West Ottawa with 17.

Ryan Henning made 15 saves for the Bucs, while Cam Miller got the win for the Panthers, stopping 15 shots.

Grand Haven falls to 2-14 on the season and 0-7 in O-K Tier I play.
