Cougars score 9-1 win over Buccaneers

Grand Rapids Catholic Central poured in six unanswered goals and went on to beat Grand Haven in varsity hockey action on Tuesday, 9-1.

The Buccaneers’ lone goal came early in the third period, when Hayden Modaff scored, assisted by Jake Steggles and Pat Modaff.

Andrew Wallick had a hat trick and also assisted on three goals for Catholic Central, while Campbell Balk and Brendan Bowman scored two goals each.

Five of GRCC’s goals came on the power play, and the Cougars finished with a commanding 41-17 advantage in shots.

Ryan Henning was in goal for the Bucs, making 32 saves.

Grand Haven next takes on Kingford on Friday night.
