WMC girls basketball drops back-to-back games

Warriors fall to Tri-Unity Christian on Thursday

Host Western Michigan Christian girls took a 13-6 first-quarter lead, but league foe Tri-Unity Christian battled back to score a 37-32 win.

The contest was tied 25-all going into the final period.

Anneliese DeKam and Lindsey Johnson each scored nine points for the Warriors.

On Wednesday, Grandville Calvin Christian raced out to an 18-2 first quarter lead and never looked back en route to a 39-19 win over the host Warriors.

The Squires led 30-7 at halftime and 37-10 going into the final quarter.

Freshmen Harlie Hubers led WMC with nine points and Olivia Varnado added six. Varnado also grabbed seven rebounds while Sarah Hughes and Johnson each had five boards.

Junior Varsity: WMC lost 37-23. Jessica Eekhoff put in seven points while Katelyn Wright added five for WMC. Lauren Myers pulled down nine rebounds.

Freshmen: WMC lost 43-18. Haylee Moser put in eight points and Macie Gentry added four.
