A trio of Buccaneers’ wrestlers claimed championships at Saturday’s Division 1 individual district tournament, which was hosted by Grand Haven.

Antonio Reyes at 130 pounds, Aaron Cummings at 152 and Dakota Juarez at 160 each won district titles, while Camden Bertucci, Connor Morley and Chase VanHoef also advanced to next Saturday’s individual regional tournament.

Reyes claimed a district title by pinning Evan Mesguen of Traverse City Central, then posting an 11-3 major decision over West Ottawa’s Mitchell Beekman. Reyes then scored an 8-5 decision over Forest Hills Northern’s Nick Hughes in the district final.

Cummings also had a dominating performance for the Bucs. He pinned Steven LaCount of Wyoming; won 13-4 over Rockford’s Nick Guerra; and pinned Blake Craymer of Mona Shores before holding on for a 15-13 win over Grandville’s Jake Brower in the finals.

Juarez pinned all three of his opponents, including Grandville’s Sam Greco in the finals, as the Bucs’ senior remained undefeated on the season.
