Matt Nalley’s goal gave Grand Haven (6-18, 1-10 O-K Tier 1) an early lead, but East Kentwood responded with two first period goals of its own to put the Falcons up 2-1 heading into the second.
Nalley was the first to find the net once again in the second period, tying the game at two. Nalley scored once more in the period to get the hat trick, with a Joey Zelenka goal sandwiched in between.
East Kentwood scored once more to cut the Grand Haven lead to one, but Jake Steggles and Adam Carlisle both scored in the third period before the Falcons could answer.
Zelenka and Trey Bledsoe each had two assists on the night, while Justin VanderZwaag, Steven Dara, Nathan Schmidt and James Calkins were credited with one apiece.
Ryan Henning had 41 saves in goal. The Bucs won despite being outshot 45-18 on the night.
