WMC boys basketball clinches conference crown

Warriors' girls fall to Muskegon Catholic Central

Western Michigan Christian’s varsity boys basketball team clinched the outright River Valley Conference crown with a 62-56 win over Muskegon Catholic Central.

Bernard Smith led the Warriors (12-5, 7-1 River Valley) with 21 points. Nate Dugener scored 12, knocking down three second-half 3-pointers. Derrick Holt chipped in with nine points for WMC.

In the girls’ game, Muskegon Catholic Central scored a 45-27 win over WMC.

Anneliese DeKam scored eight points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Warriors, while Sarah Hughes had five points and Alyssa Wright grabbed seven boards.
