Grandville captured the regional title with a total of 4,050 pins. The Buccaneers were second with 3,851, and Zeeland placed third with 3,745.
Grand Haven’s young girls team finished just one spot outside the state-qualifying top three, finishing fourth with 3,408 pins. Wyoming (3,601), Hudsonville (3,496) and Zeeland (3,468) took the top three spots.
Individually for the Buccaneers’ boys, Jimmy Mitchell earned a top 10 spot. The freshman placed seventh overall with a total score of 1,176.
Sophomore Joe Collins placed 19th with 1,089 pins, followed by junior Justin White in 22nd place with 1,066 points. Junior Kaleb Schmidt placed 32nd with 1,024 points.
Sophomore Brennan Batka (36th place) knocked down 1,017 pins for the Bucs.
Individually for the girls, freshman Megan Batka led the way with 1,010 pins.
