HED: Eagles claw past Trojans

MUSEKGON — The Fruitport boys basketball team lost a close one at Oakridge Tuesday night, 55-53. 

The squads were tied at 11 at the end of the first quarter, but Oakridge outscored Fruitport 14-10 in the second to go up 25-21heading into the break.

Travis Grimm led Fruitport with 17 points, 13 rebounds four assists and four steals. Point guard Shawn Knox dished out four assists, while Nathan Kriger chipped in with 10 points. 

Warriors shot down by Squires

Grandville Calvin Christian caught fire from long range and shot down Western Michigan Christian in boys basketball action on Tuesday, 63-40.

The Squires knocked down 13 3-pointers to outlast the Warriors.

Bernard Smith led WMC with 11 points, while Derrick Holt scored eight.
