Chris Hintz was the lone scorer for the Lakers, finishing 16th in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 1 minute, 3.83 seconds.

Hintz’s teammates Will Parker (200 freestyle), Blake Henning (100 butterfly), Marshall Bailey (100 backstroke) and Sam Thornsen (diving) also competed as individuals.

The Lakers also sent three relays to the event. Bailey, Hintz, Henning and Keon Rick comprised the 200 medley relay; Noah Rick, Eric Schock, Davis Allison and Keon Rick swam the 200 freestyle relay; and Keon Rick, Parker, Henning and Allison competed in the 400 free relay.

"We had a nice meet overall,” said coach Jason Lintjer. “Our team is mostly comprised of underclassmen so next year looks promising."

Keon Rick, Hintz, Bailey, Henning and Schock are all expected to return next season for the Lakers, who will look to defend their Coastal Conference crown.

Grand Haven competed at the Division 1 state meet at Saginaw Valley State University this weekend, although the Buccaneers were unable to secure any points.

Suiting up for Grand Haven were Austin Bessinger, Karl Johnson, Hayden Schouman and Spencer Poort in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

Johnson and Bessinger were joined by Jonas Hunter and Josh Nicholson in the 200 medley relay.

Nicholson competed as an individual in the 100 breaststroke, while Johnson took part in the 100 butterfly.
