Juarez went on an incredible run, winning five consecutive matches to reach the national championship match at his weight class.

In Sunday night’s final, Juarez suffered a crushing 8-6 loss in overtime to Brandon Womack of Alabama.

Juarez opened the tournament with a 9-2 victory over Conner Sheehan of New Jersey, then downed Carter Page of Virginia, 6-0.

In the third round, Juarez won 5-0 over Brandon Wolfe of Delaware.

In the quarterfinals, he kept up his dominant run with a 7-0 victory over Danny Bush of Iowa.

That led to a semifinal showdown with two-time state champion Burke Paddock of New York, who’s heading to Iowa on a full-ride scholarship. Juarez, who finished with a 41-1 record wrestling for the Buccaneers, scored a thrilling three-overtime victory to advance to the finals.
