Senior Maria Ma will play volleyball for the Golden Eagles while classmate Mikki Denison will play soccer.

A signing ceremony was held for the two athletes at the school.

WMC assistant athletic director Josh Glerum welcomed students, staff, parents and Warrior fans to “this special occasion.”

“For these two young ladies to be successful both academically and athletically, strong support systems were required,” Glerum said. “Without teachers, coaches, friends and family, and most importantly our Heavenly Father, neither of you would be where you are today.”

Glerum said Ma recorded the second-highest number of kills in the state for a single season at 939, and the second-highest number of kills in a match at 44.

WMC soccer coach David Hulings said Cornerstone is getting a very quick and technically strong player in Denison.

“She is a strong leader and will benefit them in her play on the field, as well as her leadership off,” Hulings said.
