Cole named to national program

Grand Haven High School graduate, and current Michigan Wolverine, Abby Cole has been named to U.S. Collegiate National Team program.

Cole will be one of 36 players spread across three teams, which will compete at this USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships in Minneapolis, Minn. from June 22 to July 1.

Players will be considered for a spot on the U.S. Women’s National Team.

Cole will play opposite hitter on the team.

The 6-foot-5-inch standout started in 22 matches her freshmen season.

Cole was named Big Ten Freshmen of the Week on Sept. 9. She had double digit kills on 13 different occasions, and led Michigan in blocks seven times.

The soon-to-be sophomore will have at least one familiar face with her in the program, as Wolverine teammate Lexi Dannemiller was also selected.

Good thing she came in second for miss volleyball, what a joke and a sham by all those who voted. Shameful
