Four different players scored goals as the Spring Lake varsity girls soccer team topped Orchard View on Wednesday, 4-1.

Kelcea Wilson and Nora Adkins each scored first-half goals for Spring Lake, with both of those tallies coming in the final five minutes of the half.

Orchard View’s Amanda Skidmore scored to make it 2-1 early in the second half, but the Lakers responded with goals off the feet of Morgan Carey and Dani Rhem.

Mariada Gezon assisted on both second-half goals.

“This was our first game, and it’s been crazy with the spring we’ve had, so it was nice to get outside,” said Lakers’ coach Jeremy Thelen. “We went in there thinking we were going to win, and Orchard View came out and worked harder than us. They were on top of things the first 10-15 minutes of the game.

“We won today based on talent, not on hard work. We’ll have to fix that.”
