Bricker Reed earned medalist honors at the Kenowa Hills Invitational at Gracewil Country Club on Saturday.

Reed shot a 76, helping the Lakers place third out of 14 teams.

Poor putting cost the Lakers an even better finish.

“We had a lot of three-putts,” said coach George Bitner, whose team shot a 330. Comstock Park won it with a 325, followed by Zeeland West with a 327.

Reed’s round included back-to-back double bogeys, but he closed out the round with three birdies and a par.

Ben Kramer shot an 81, while Tanner Debien took advantage of an eagle on a par 4 to shoot an 85. Brenden Peel shot an 88, Connor Trebelman an 88, and George Nietering a 91.

Junior Varisty: Spring Lake placed fourth out of 10 teams at the Kenowa Hills JV Invitational with a 202. Forest Hills Central shot a 176 to take first place. Connor Trebelman shot a 48 for Spring Lake, followed by Patrick Mahony with a 50, Sam Walters a 52, C.J. Anastor a 52 and Ryan Spragues a 54.
