Grand Haven held a 29-0 advantage in shots on goal, but only one of those shots found the back of the net.

That came off the foot of Katie Fojtik, who scored for the second time in as many games to lift the Buccaneers to a 1-0 win over the Sailors of Mona Shores on Saturday.

Claire Borchers picked up the assist on Fojtik’s goal as the Bucs scored their second consecutive victory.

Faith Platz earned the win in goal for the Bucs, who will play at Rockford on Thursday.

Spring Lake knocked off Reeths-Puffer on Saturday, 3-2, thanks to a pair of goals from Mariada Gezon.

Gezon scored the game’s first goal just five minutes into the contest as she took a cross from Morgan Carey and hit a volley over the Rockets’ keeper and into the net.

Sierra Gipson, who was making her season debut after missing the first several games of the year due to illness, made a strong run and passed the ball in to Saebryn Peel for a goal and a 2-0 lead later in the first half.

The Rockets made it 2-1 just before halftime, only to see the Lakers go back on top by two goals when Gezon scored off a header from Alex Prout early in the second half.

The Rockets made it 3-2 with 10 minutes remaining, and had a few chances to tie the game in the closing minutes, but the Lakers held on for the win.

The Lakers (4-0-1) play at Western Michigan Christian this evening.
