In conjunction with the “Bling” exhibit at the Tri-Cities Historical Museum, local jewelry maker Carla Kocher will be teaching a jewelry-making class at the museum from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24.

Kocher, a Grand Haven resident, has taught more than 200 jewelry-making classes.

Those attending the class will be making their very own “bling” bracelet. The class is geared for beginners and intermediate-level beaded-jewelry makers. Using wire-working techniques, participants will be creating a charm-style bracelet inspired by costume jewelry of the 20th century.

The cost of the class is $35 and includes all supplies necessary to make one bracelet. Tools are provided by Kocher to create the bracelet; those preferring to bring their own tools need to bring round-nose pliers, wire cutters and needle-nose pliers.

Children ages 14-17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who is registered for the class. Class size is limited to 12 registrants. Advanced registration is necessary.

To register, call 842-0700.
