3rd hunter dies during Mich. deer hunting season

Authorities said a 34-year-old hunter has died after accidentally shooting himself in Cheboygan County.

Police told the Cheboygan Daily Tribune that the hunter was alone Friday when his gun discharged as he tripped on brush. Relatives found him about 200 feet off a road in Mullet Township, just north of Topinabee. 

The man’s name was not immediately released.

At least three Michigan hunters have died since the traditional deer season opened Tuesday.
