GH girls move into first-place tie in O-K Red

Grand Haven's varsity girls basketball team overwhelmed Grandville on Tuesday, 61-35.

In the process, the No. 2-ranked Buccaneers moved into a first-place tie in the O-K Red Conference when No. 7 East Kentwood was upset by Rockford on Tuesday, 35-31.

Both Grand Haven and East Kentwood sit at 5-1 in league play. The Bucs and the Falcons will meet at East Kentwood next week Tuesday. East Kentwood beat Grand Haven when the teams first meet on Dec. 16.

The Bucs easily handled the Bulldogs of Grandville on Tuesday, racing out to a 41-8 advantage late in the second quarter and never looking back.
