Local sports roundup: GH JV hockey club blanks Wildcats

Grand Haven’s JV hockey club scored a 6-0 win over Ludington’s Westshore Wildcats on Saturday.
The line of Cole Carlson, Lucas VanHeest and Ryan Christiansen were called upon to lead the charge, and that group responded with six points. Christiansen accounted for three goals while Carlson had a goal and an assist and Vanheest chipped in with an assist.
Zach Hansen was in net for the Bucs and stopped all 19 shots he faced.
The win puts the Bucs at 11-3-2, good for second place in the league, two points behind first-place Mona Shores. The two teams meet on Saturday at L.C. Walker Arena. Game time is 3 p.m.
